Ultra Thin Prismatic Supercapacitors

The unique feature of CAP-XX supercapacitors is their very high power density and high energy storage capacity in a space-efficient prismatic package. Also, they offer high cell voltage and wide operating temperature ranges, plus their shallow ‘leakage current’ and minimum charge current.

Small Cylindrical Cell Supercapacitors

CAP-XX small supercaps are available as 2.7V & 3V single cells or dual cell modules suitable for most batteries and electronics to 5.5V. Dual cell modules include resistor or active cell balancing. CAP-XX Cylindrical cells have low leakage current, typical leakage current settles at ~1uA/F, so a 10F cell will typically have ~10uA leakage current. Low ESRs enable excellent power delivery. This makes these cells ideal as a power buffer between a low power energy source such as a low power battery, or a micro-energy harvester and a high-power load such as data transmission, motor, scanner, or a solenoid. These small cells can deliver in the range from 7.3W (1F) to 520W (800F) cell.

Note that the DMHA14R5V353M4ATA0 is actually 2 independent cells, with 2 terminals for each cell. The user can connect the 2 cells in series or in parallel, or as 2 individual supercapacitor cells. If connected in series then connect (bal 1) to (bal 2). If connected in parallel then (-) must be connected to (bal 2) and (bal 1) must be connected to (+). The table gives the electrical characteristics for the different configurations.
