Powering the transition to clean energy generation and meeting the Net Zero challenge

The United Nations describes the transition to a Net Zero world and the preservation of a livable planet, as one of the greatest challenges ever faced by humankind.

Expansion of renewable energy use, including solar and wind, as well as battery storage, is seen as critical to energy transition efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and slow the effects of climate change.
The shift to a clean energy economy and advances in renewable technologies such as hydropower, solar, wind, wave, tidal and modern biofuel has been accelerated by recent geo-political tensions, concerns about surety of supply of traditional fuels, and rising prices.
Over the past few years, Astute has partnered with some of the world’s leading manufacturers of alternative energy sources – providing power management systems that incorporate organic renewable solar, hydrogen fuel cells, lithium battery packs, and customisable power solutions.

Advanced electronics, durable Hi-Rel components, and a reliable, long-term supply chain are key contributors to dependable power generation – particularly in supporting the operation and maintenance of equipment in harsh environments such as ocean wind farms and safety-critical industries like nuclear.

Astute’s electronics design engineering team are each at the forefront of their fields. Ready to help you explore the art of the possible in providing sustainable solutions for the Net Zero future.

Among the manufacturers Astute represents, is UK-based renewable technology pioneers Solivus who have developed ground-breaking new approaches to solar power generation for commercial and industrial buildings, airports, sports stadiums, and domestic homes.
Their thin-film, ultra-lightweight organic photovoltaic solar systems are fundamentally different from heavy, glass solar panels which may be unsuitable for some roof structures where weight restrictions apply.

The thin-film technology has a smaller carbon footprint in production and is more flexible than traditional panels, can stick to the side of a building; and offers a significant reduction in reflection.

Astute support the wider Renewables sector with a range of components, including Pulsiv semiconductors. These intelligent devices deliver a PFC AC input to a DC output that eliminates inrush currents and considerably increases the efficiency at low loads. Pulsiv offers configurable reference designs and flexible development systems.
