Astute is all set to use ground-breaking rooftop solar power to provide green energy for its Hertfordshire, UK, headquarters from 2024.
The thin-film, ultra-lightweight organic photovoltaic solar system will be designed and installed by clean energy technology pioneer Solivus – one of the many component and system suppliers in the renewables sector represented by Astute.
“Like many businesses across the world, we’re focussed on both our Net Zero targets and rising energy costs,” said Astute Sales & Marketing Director Mark Shanley.
“The thin-film, flexible fabric system from Solivus tackles both challenges through innovation. It’s lighter than traditional heavy glass photovoltaic cells and avoids any possibility of roof weight issues, planning restriction challenges, or compromised aesthetics.
“Plus, there’s no better endorsement of the products and components we supply than using them ourselves.”
We all owe a debt of gratitude to those ready to give their life to protect ours. Astute is helping them rebuild theirs.
Astute has a long association with defence technologies and the dedicated men and women who ensure a safe and secure environment in which individuals and society can flourish.
That commitment now extends to supporting the UK’s Armed Forces Para-Snowsports Team – the independent services charity aiding the recovery of wounded, injured, and sick ex-service personnel and veterans through participation in adaptive winter sports including Snowboarding and Alpine and Nordic Skiing,
The AFPST’s training programme has seen Paralympic qualification for several ‘graduates’. But the real value is in the sense of purpose, achievement of success, and restoration of self-confidence for all participants.

An award-winning homeless charity offering food, friendship, and support to people struggling with homelessness.
We made a conscious choice to support, both financially and through donations of food and time, Feed Up Warm Up as a charity making a real difference in the community in the immediate area around our UK headquarters.
Founder Shane Cole has personal experience of life on the streets after leaving foster care at 17. Using his background in catering, he launched Feed Up Warm Up in 2018 as a safe place to meet, enjoy a hot, healthy meal, and find friendship and practical and emotional help.
Now backed by a dedicated team of volunteers, the charity has since won a range of community awards and the support of former England, Liverpool, and Aston Villa goalkeeper and UK TV sports pundit David James MBE as a long-term ambassador and regular fund-raising event host.
Together, we can do more. Find out how you can assist Feed Up Warm Up via their website www.feedupwarmup.co.uk
