WFH is damaging business, says new ISM survey

The coronavirus pandemic is having a far greater impact on global supply chains than originally anticipated, says the Institute for Supply Management (ISM).

In their new survey, COVID-19 and Supply Chains: Increasing Impacts, Decreasing Revenues, they report that 95% of respondents expect global disruption including lack of supplies, delays in shipments, workplace and operations issues and loss of revenue.

The top-5 rated impacts on business, according to the report, are

  • Having to telework/remote work (56.7%)
  • Business continuity/planning (20%)
  • Severe disruption due to transportation restrictions (18%)
  • Supply chain disruption (16%).
  • Reduced employee productivity (11.7%)
