Silicon wafer manufacturer GlobalWafers said that the demand for silicon wafers continues to be strong, and its 6-inch, 8-inch and 12-inch wafer production lines are all fully loaded, reports SemiMedia.

Doris Hsu, chairman of GlobalWafers, said that the company’s current order visibility is high, and customer demand in the next two years is very stable. In addition, some customers have signed long-term contracts for 3 to 5 years, or even 8 years. The advance payment amount exceeds NT$19 billion, and the advance payment is about 20-30% of the total order amount.

The report pointed out that GlobalWafers’ orders in hand are estimated to exceed NT$100 billion, of which some orders are for 3-year contracts.
