Chinese retailers have been caught “in large volumes” by a rash of counterfeit Intel processors with varying defects, from modified IHS (integrated heat spreaders) to no CPU die – effectively leaving customers with a piece of green silicon, reports website Notebook Check<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They say a report by\u00a0Chinese<\/a>\u00a0outlet HKEPC indicates that the country’s\u00a0Intel<\/a>\u00a0CPU retailers are facing a major counterfeiting issue. The report indicates that Chinese CPU retailers have been attempting to return counterfeit processors. Intel stated that it will not honor RMAs on counterfeit parts.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
