MLCC makers expect revenue to grow by more than 10% in 2022

Demand for multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) continues to grow with revenue expected to increase by 11% for Murata and 14% for Taiyo Yuden during fiscal 2022, according to Korea’s electronics industry news, THE ELEC. TDK expects revenue growth to be between 7% and 10% over the same period.

Murata also said it expects total vehicle shipments to reach 84 million this year, up 10% year-on-year, but electric vehicle shipments are expected to rise 50% year-on-year to 24 million.

Despite the growth, Murata and Taiyo Yuden’s growth forecasts for this year are down from 25% and 18%, respectively, from the previous fiscal year.
