Memory spot prices reported to be in decline

The spot price of memory chips has fallen by as much as 10%, reports SemiMedia, and contract prices are expected to fall sharply in the third quarter as DRAM spot prices continue to decline.

It is expected that as the shortage of DRAM eases in the fourth quarter, the demand may grow slowly; the oversupply of NAND Flash is not expected to ease before the end of the year.
