CES kicked off the year in Las Vegas with some outstanding new components that are sure to excite electronics engineers.
Electronic Design listed its top five to catch their eye, as:
- An ultra-low-power AI processor by Syntiant to carry out audio, voice, and other types of AI-powered sensor processing in IoT devices while consuming under 1 mW.
- A global-positioning IoT chip by Synaptics that claims to use 80% less power, comes in a package that’s 30% smaller than rival offerings and offers a 50% improvement in accuracy.
- Ultra-low-power, wide dynamic range MEMS microphones by TDK for smartphones, wireless headphones, tablets, smart speakers, laptops, and even voice-controlled remote controls and other IoT devices.
- 6-nm Octa-Core Arm SoC: High-performance Arm SoCs for the IoT market with the octa-core from MediaTek.
- A 28-nm single-chip radar IC for driver-assistance and autonomous-driving systems.
