[18/10/2021 Stevenage, UK] Astute Electronics has signed a deal with Kayal to distribute their electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the country, in response to growing government-backed demand for EVs.
As part of the deal, Astute will offer all Kayal charging products across a range of sizes and power-grades for residential, commercial, and public use. Kayal offers a complete range of products for commercial and domestic EV charging station installations including AC, DC & portable EV charging stations, energy storage cabinets, and a full accompaniment of photovoltaic products – connectors, inverter, circuit breakers, combiners, solar panels, and surge protection.
Electrification of transport is official government policy in the UK. The Government recently announced that electric vehicle chargepoints are set to become the “next great British emblem”. This will require major infrastructure upgrades in homes, car parks, and refuelling stations.
I want to see EV chargepoints that are as iconic and recognisable as the British phone box, London bus or black cab,” UK Transport Secretary, Grant Shapps, has announced. “With less than three months to go until COP26 [UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties], we continue to put the UK at the forefront of the design, manufacture and use of zero emission vehicles and their charging infrastructure, as we build back greener and call on countries around the world to similarly accelerate the transition to electric vehicles.”
