The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) released new data to show that global semiconductor sales reached $51.3 billion in July 2024, marking an 18.7% increase compared to $43.2 billion in July 2023. This figure also represents a 2.7% rise from the June 2024 total of $50.0 billion, continuing a positive growth trend for the fourth consecutive month.
“The global semiconductor market showed robust year-on-year growth in July, with consecutive monthly gains further strengthening the industry’s momentum,” said John Neuffer, SIA President and CEO. “The Americas market stood out with exceptional performance, achieving a 40.1% year-on-year increase in sales, leading the regional growth.”
Regionally, year-on-year sales were up significantly in the Americas (40.1%), China (19.5%), and Asia Pacific/All Other (16.7%). However, sales declined in Japan (-0.8%) and Europe (-12.0%). On a month-to-month basis, July sales grew in the Americas (4.3%), Asia Pacific/All Other (3.9%), Japan (3.3%), and China (0.9%), but saw a slight dip in Europe (-0.5%).
These figures reflect a dynamic and evolving semiconductor market that continues to expand despite regional variances. The SIA report provides further insights into the current market conditions and the factors driving growth across various segments of the global semiconductor industry.
