Silicon wafer

The market size of silicon wafers will grow by more than 10% in 2022 to reach $15.5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14.8%, which will be the first time in more than a decade that the silicon wafer market has achieved double-digit growth for two consecutive years. according to the latest report from TECHCET.

TECHCET said that currently major wafer suppliers such as Shin-Etsu Chemical, SUMCO, GlobalWafers, Siltronic and SK Siltron will expand production, but the completion of factory construction and commissioning is expected to be around 2024. Before that, the tension between supply and demand is difficult to ease, and the price may rise further.
