Shortages improving in automotive semiconductors – Nikkei

Signs of improvements in the supply of automotive semiconductors are emerging, according to SemiMedia.

Quoting from a report by Ashwani Gupta, Toyota’s CEO, they said Toyota hopes to increase production in December to one million cars, a 30% year on year increase.

In addition, Toyota will increase its monthly output to 850,000 cars from January next year.

The report also pointed out that Honda’s production reduction measures are slowing down.  The company reduced production by 20% in the first half of this year, equivalent to 535,000 vehicles, but the production in the second half of the year will be reduced by 10% compared to the original plan.
