The market for DRAM (Dynamic Random-Access Memory) chips is experiencing remarkable growth. According to market research firm TechInsights, global DRAM sales jumped a staggering 79% year-on-year in the week ending February 16th, 2024. This surge is echoed in the 13-week moving average, which also reflects a 79% year-on-year increase.

TechInsights forecasts this positive momentum to continue throughout 2024, predicting a 46% year-on-year growth in global DRAM sales, reaching a total of US$78 billion. This significant rise comes after a period of decline in 2023, highlighting a potential turning point for the DRAM market.

Furthermore, the report reveals a continued upward trend in retail prices of electronics. This trend is attributed to strong demand for terminal equipment such as mobile phones and laptops, suggesting a robust consumer appetite for electronics despite rising costs.
