Brexit deal “within touching distance”… we’re all waiting for the announcement

The Telegraph is reporting we may be on the brink of a deal “more generous than anything the EU has offered anyone” and says it’s been 95% complete for weeks.

What are we likely to see?

If you’ve not viewed the Government’s triumphantly titled victory scorecard you can download it here from the Guido Fawkes site. The Government is currently claiming “nearly three times as many UK victories as EU ones”, but also 40% of the total were of mutual compromise.

The Guardian suggests that it won’t be as generous as the PM originally hoped.

“Under the trade deal the UK will have access to the single market in the sense of being able to sell goods tariff-free into the EU, but it won’t have access in the sense of being able to trade frictionlessly, as it did as a member of the single market. Britons will, of course, be able to visit and work and live in the EU, but not as an absolute, unqualified right. And, far from being “intensified”, cooperation in areas like university exchanges is being scaled back,” writes Andrew Sparrrow in the Guardian.

We’re all waiting for the announcement.
