ADS – Brexit deal falls short of ambitions

ADS Chief Executive Paul Everitt has commented on the Brexit deal, saying that while the UK A&D industries welcome the deal, it “does not meet all our ambitions”.

He listed some priority areas including aviation safety and chemicals regulation, customs and border control, and Northern Ireland which must be more thoroughly examined in the full legal text.

“There is now just one week remaining until the end of the transition period, and it will be difficult for businesses to be ready in time,” he added. “The Government must issue swift, clear and comprehensive advice to businesses on preparations, and work urgently to put all necessary arrangements in place.”

The government has a trader checklist to help companies prepare for the end of the Brexit transition period.

ADS has also published their own Brexit transition checklist here.
