So, what is a counterfeit? ERAI tries to answer

What exactly is a counterfeit electronic part? It’s not a simple answer, says supply chain monitoring agency, ERAI.

In some cases, no established definition for a counterfeit electronic part exists, they say here, as definitions vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, between governments and industry, and even between organizations. “Discordance and inconsistency between governments, their agencies and the broader supply chain produce their own set of challenges.”

Astute Electronics is an active member of ERAI, a global information services organisation that monitors, investigates, and reports issues affecting the global electronics supply chain.

ERAI provides exclusive services and in-depth information that enable its members to perform industry-specific risk mitigation on suspect counterfeit, high-risk, and non-conforming parts and identify problematic suppliers and customers. Find out more here
